Our Story

 

Founded in 2016 by Chris Williamson, Blank Space is inspired by the coastal and rural lifestyle of the South Coast, NSW. Chris returned to his hometown, leaving behind city life to become his own boss, driven by a passion to create personalised designs that not only meet client briefs but also blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

We celebrate a diverse range of architectural styles and prioritise transparent, collaborative communication with our clients at every stage. Recognising a gap in the market for 3D-focused designs, Chris made it his mission to help clients visualise their projects more effectively than traditional 2D plans. This innovative approach breaks down barriers, making the design process more accessible and inclusive.

While we identify as building designers and draftsmen, our expertise goes beyond that. With over a decade of experience and a Master’s degree in Architecture, we bring valuable insights to every project.

As a small business operating from a home office, we balance professionalism with a friendly, personal touch. You’ll often find us out and about, meeting clients, visiting construction sites, and collaborating with builders—while also making time for cuddles with our beloved fur baby.​

We take pride in delivering and documenting our work locally on the South Coast. In an industry increasingly leaning toward outsourcing, we remain committed to upholding the essential values of quality and integrity.

Based in the Shoalhaven (Nowra), we’ve also completed projects in Kiama, Shellharbour, Eurobodalla, Southern Highlands, and Sydney. Since launching, Blank Space has built a strong reputation for thoughtful, well-executed designs that reflect our love of design.
